I selected this Internet Awareness project because it is incredibly important for our children and students to stay safe on the internet. It can be a scary place to navigate if there are traps set for students who unknowingly give too much away. I want to actively protect our students, and keep everyone aware of how to prevent these issues, as well as what to do if they do happen. I will be able to use this presentation in the future to show parents different tips for internet safety. Anyone watching can learn important facts about staying safe on the internet - prevention, tips, and damage control. It's an interactive presentation, meaning the viewer can answer quiz questions after learning from each slide. I learned how to make this presentation interactive by hyperlinking slides to certain text or pictures. I can use this in the future to make more interactive lessons for students to get caught up if they miss a lesson. I think all of it worked well, because I made sure everything connected in the right places. At first, I was confused about how to keep the slides in the right order, but I figured it out. It was also complicated to download the YouTube video, convert it, and upload it into the PowerPoint, but I will definitely use that skill again now that I have learned it. The three things I learned were how to hyperlink text and pictures to other slides, convert YouTube videos into a downloadable format, and how to make PDF files out of Publisher and PowerPoint documents.
